Inspired by the work of Miquel Llobet — who was the first to transcribe two of Enrique Granados’s “Spanish dances” for guitar duo — Pietro Locatto and I have created a new version for the same ensemble of the entire cycle, one of the great masterpieces by the pianist and composer from Barcelona. Throughout the whole process — from the transcription to the recording — our aim was to highlight the colours that animate this imaginative music and to reveal how naturally these pages resonate with the sound world of the guitar. Completing the tracklist is a special version of the “Capricho español”, another gem by Granados that Fabio Rizza transcribed for two guitars for our duo.
